Hyperhidrosis is a physiological condtion that stops the body from properly regulating its temperature.

How is it treated?

By using a muscel relaxant treatment, Type B, the same product used for anti-wrinkle facial cosmetic procedures, excessive sweating can treated right at the source.Treatment of hyperhidrosis works by blocking the release of acetylcholine, which activates the sweat glands. The effects of the treatment are usually apparent within a week of treatment and generally control excess perspiration.

How long does the treatment last?

Bx1 treatment in the underarms for hyperhidrosis can be effective for an average of 8 months. However this treatment can last up to 12 months provided regular treatment is maintained.

Are there any side effects?

As with all medicines some side effects may occure. For hyperhidrosis treatment with Type B side effects are usually temporary and localised to the injection area. The most common is a perceived increase in sweating in areas other then underarms, pain at injection site, hot flushes and transient weakness.
